Since I work at a studio, the work I do varies from day to day. In this photo essay I will include a lot of the work I have completed for my internship.
The most consistent task I have is writing summaries for podcasts and video for North County Media Center's e2 Media Network. This task requires a lot of focus, since the summaries are actually closer to transcriptions, since much of the e2 Media Network's audience prefer reading an article about the subject rather than litsening or watching it.
I also help record the podcasts themselves. This job mostly involves me monitoring the sound levels as the hosts record and making sure that things such as phone interviews and music were introduced into the show smoothly.
This is one of the smaller projects I was able to contribute towards, giving me an opportunity to gain hands on learning. It was the first project that I had ever worked on, so I mostly stuck to working with the boom mic and helping move the lights.
This is one of the larger project I have assisted with. On projects like these I am not able to contribute as much, since they already have such a large crew. However, I did help them figure out how to set up their lights and was an extra helping hand throughout. Plus, just being on set was a great learning experience. Before completing this large-scale video, I got the opportunity to work on a smaller one involving green screen. During that project, I set up most of the lights and contributed a great deal to the entire set up for that video.
Here are two sides of a a sound studio I helped remodel. Before, the two sides were actually flipped, with the recording booth on the left and the office on the right. However, after the hard work my mentor and I put in, you would never be able to tell.
